Our Work

The following engagements represent the kind of work BAAS does — and the outcomes clients can expect when senior expertise is actually delivered personally.

Scope: Historical accounting clean-up, improved financial reporting, strengthened budgeting, first-ever cash flow projections, and full audit preparation leading to engagement with a PCAOB-registered firm.

Outcome: Successful completion of consecutive audits, a financial foundation that supported continued investment, and reporting that gave leadership real visibility into the business for the first time.

Growth-Stage

Consumer Products Company

Scope: Led an internal project team and client personnel — reporting directly to the CFO — through a multi-year technical accounting remediation and audit readiness engagement for a privately held, multi-entity healthcare organization. Technical scope included revenue recognition, purchase accounting, business combination valuation, intercompany accounting, and lease accounting across a complex structure. External audit conducted by a global accounting firm.

Outcome: Successful completion of consecutive audits over a three-year period. Accounting policies and technical positions established, documented, and defensible under external review. Financial reporting infrastructure rebuilt to support the organization's scale and continued growth.

Multi-Year Technical Accounting & Audit Leadership

Large Private Healthcare Organization

Scope: Serving as ongoing fractional CFO for a $20M ESOP-owned engineering company — managing financial reporting, technical accounting, audit coordination, and ESOP-specific financial oversight across a three-year engagement.

Outcome: Sustained senior financial leadership that gave ownership and management the reporting clarity, audit confidence, and financial discipline an ESOP structure demands. Engagement ongoing.

Ongoing Fractional CFO

Outcome: Audit completed with no surprises, strengthened internal controls, and a financial foundation the board could rely on — completed on time and without disruption to school operations.

Financial Clean-Up & Audit Readiness

 Independent School

Scope: Built a comprehensive multi-unit cash flow model providing location-level and consolidated visibility across five locations. Now conducting twice-monthly financial reviews with the owner to track performance, manage cash, and support growth decisions in real time.

Outcome: Owner moved from reactive cash management to proactive planning. For the first time, unit-level performance was visible, comparable, and actionable — across all five locations simultaneously.
